Senior Patent Prosecution Paralegal

Stanek Lemon Crouse + Meeks is a majority woman-owned intellectual property law firm focused primarily on patent prosecution. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join our fully remote team. While this role is remote, candidates must be available to work during Eastern Time (ET) business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file U.S. and international patent applications (PCT and national phase) and associated prosecution documents.
  • Draft and submit Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) for U.S. patent applications.
  • Coordinate annuity and maintenance fee payments with the USPTO and foreign associates.
  • Communicate with clients, foreign associates, and non-U.S. patent offices regarding prosecution matters.
  • Assist attorneys in managing patent dockets and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Draft client correspondence, patent prosecution submissions, and trademark prosecution submissions.
  • Maintain accurate records and docketing using NetDocuments, DocketTrak, TimeSolv, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant specializing in patent prosecution. Compensation will be adjusted based on experience, proficiency, and overall performance capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of USPTO and PCT procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in patent management software, docketing systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive and professional approach.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while collaborating with attorneys and team members.
